President Klaus Iohannis has sent a message on Sunday to the Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania on the occasion of Rosh Hassanah – the Jewish New Year 2018 celebration, saying that the values of respect, dialogue and tolerance must be passed on to the future generations, the Presidency informs.
“I am glad to address to the leadership of the Federation of Jewish Communities and to the members of the Jewish Communities in Romania my warm greetings accompanied by wishes for prosperity and peace in the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hssanah. Rosh Hassanah offers us a good opportunity to be together and to reflect, with solidarity and responsibility, on the role that each of us has in our family and in society,” President Klaus Iohannis said, according to a statement released by the Presidential Administration on Sunday.
President Iohnannis added that the memory of the forefathers must be honoured, and the values of respect, tolerance and dialogue must be at the basis of cohabitation in society.
“Let’s honour the memory of our forefathers and to pass on the values of respect, dialogue and tolerance to the new generations as the foundation of a good coexistence. I wish you bright days and a fruitful beginning in all the things we can do together for the common good. «Shana Tová!», President Klaus Iohannis concluded.
