President Klaus Iohannis said that PM Victor Ponta is very “warlike” lately, while pointing out that, by his recent outbursts, like the one regarding the meeting in Brussels, the premier makes people forget that he is prosecuted for forgery in deeds, complicity to tax evasion and money laundering.
“I am doing my job, but regarding the statements made by the prime ministers, Mr. Ponta is very warlike lately. My impression is that through this attitude he thinks that people forget he is prosecuted for forgery in deeds and complicity to tax evasion and money laundering,” Iohannis told the press conference held at Cotroceni late on Monday.
Iohannis also informed he invited PM Ponta to have a discussion on Tuesday.
“The institutional communication is working and I will see it done hereafter, even if some are mistaken their own headquarters with places like the railway station, where one may talk colloquially,” the president pointed out.
Earlier on Monday PM Victor Ponta attacked President Klaus Iohannis on Monday, after the latter said that the prime minister took a walk to PM Victor Ponta without having the mandate to discuss with his counterparts from Bulgaria and Serbia. “He went to Brussels as deaf to dance, and he returned the same way he went,” said Victor Ponta.
The prime minister said he wanted to “make it clear for the population and for citizen Klaus what the problems with refugees are about” and claimed that he went to discuss with the Bulgarian and Serb leaders in order to coordinate in a context where other countries to close down their borders and it would be “unfair and impossible” that all refugees remain in Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria if “everyone else closes borders”.
