Programme of French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Romania revealed

French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Romania is drawing near. He will arrive in Bucharest on Thursday, with president Klaus Iohannis welcoming him at Cotroceni Palace at 13:00. Macron will sign in the Book of Honour around 13:20, according to the official programme revealed on Tuesday.

The two presidents will have tête-à-tête talks and the programme will continue with official talks as of 13:50.

Iohannis and Macron will hold a joint press conference at 14:30.

In the afternoon, at 17:30, the Romanian president will join the French guest in a visit to the “Dimitrie Gusti” Village Museum in Bucharest. President Iohannis will host a reception at Cotroceni Palace at 19:30, in the honour of France’s President.

According to a previous press release by the Romanian Presidential Administration, the discussions that will take place at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace will focus on the development and strengthening of the Strategic Partnership bilateral relation, as well as on the main topics on the European, international and security agenda.

The visit was agreed upon at the two officials’ meeting on the sidelines of the European Council meeting on June 23, when Emmanuel Macron accepted Klaus Iohannis’ proposal to pursue the dialogue in Bucharest.
