“In fact, the two people have worked for the Teleorman County organization of the political party whose president was the suspect Nicolae Liviu Dragnea,” the statement reads.

Dragnea was summoned to the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA)a few months ago to be informed that he has the status of suspect in the file in which his ex-wife Bombonica Prodana is prosecuted.

“It’s the same file my wife was called for. It’s related to the employees at the Child Protection who did not come to work and that I allegedly allowed this to happen. So, I am suspect in the file,” Dragnea said while leaving the DNA offices.

He added that he knows the two employees, but neither he nor his wife, were the ones to hire them.

“I took note and I must come to look over the file. Only after two or three days I will get the content and see what is about,” Dragnea said back then.
