Save Romania Union (USR) leader Nicusor Dan has presented on Sunday an opinion poll which reveals that PSD + ALDE could easily form the government, being credited with some 55% of voting intentions.
However, Nicusor Dan claims a massive turnout might turn upside down the results, as it happened before, hotnews.ro reports.
“Currently, PSD and ALDE would easily form a government. PSD was even before in such situations, winning positions just two weeks before the elections and the huge turnout turned the results upside down. I hope the same thing will happen now,” he said.
The USR leader reiterated his party will not forge alliances, but would negotiate with a prime minister on the basis of a programme, not for ministry positions.
According to the opinion poll, conducted by Kantar TNS, PSD would get 45% of the votes, PNL -25%, USR – 10%, ALDE – 7%, UDMR 5%, PMP – 4% and PRU – 1%.
Some 56% of respondents said they would go to the polls.
“We said before we aim the level of 10%, we are realistic. We are on a growing trend and in two and half months we’ll be even higher. Starting today we are the third political force in the country,” Nicusor Dan said.
The opinion poll was conducted during September 14-23 by CATI method (by phone) on a sample of 1,001 people. The maximum permitted error is of 3.3%.
