Social-democrat MP Liviu Plesoianu (photo) posted a message on his Facebook page saying PSD will organise a rally in support of Grindeanu cabinet next week.
“Please wait for our official message. The rally will be authorised,” Liviu Plesoianu said, according to hotnews.ro.
Subsequently, he stated for Antena 3 TV the PSD decision is to be made on Saturday.
“It is not about a counter-rally, we respect people’s right to protest, even to call us red plague. (…) But we also have the right to rally, we the ones not agreeing with President Iohannis, we have the right to be heard. We’ll do everything by the book, everything will be organised, authorised, and any incident will fall in the responsibility of Mr. Klaus Werner Iohannis,” Plesoianu said.
He said the rally will take place next week.
Labour Minister Olguta Vasilescu said that, unlike PSD leader Liviu Dragnea, she believes the social-democrats need to go in the street to protest, because the current street movements are politicized and the opposition want to bring the ‘technocrats’ back to power.
“It’s time for us to be heard!” Olguta Vasilescu said.
Shortly after Plesoianu’s statements, the National Liberal Party (PNL) reacted: “Any politicization of a street movement is a mistake. This is desperation. Any street movement could lead to a deadlock if decision-makers do not sit to the table. PSD, Liviu Dragnea, should be aware things can’t go on like this. PSD, PNL should solve this crisis. Liviu Dragnea must repeal the ordinance and submit it to parliament. Let’s solve the crisis!” PNL deputy Cezar Preda said for Antena 3 TV.
