President Klaus Iohannis has welcomed his Croatian counterpart Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic on Monday, who is on a two-day state visit, at Cotroceni Palace.
The two heads of state are to hold official talks and will have a joint press conference.
The Presidential Administration says the agenda of talks will focus on the development of bilateral relations and on the main issues of the European, regional and security agenda.
“The two presidents will open on October 3 the works of the Romanian and Croatian Businessmen Forum, on which occasion messages to stimulate the business environment in both countries will be conveyed, in order to further develop the bilateral economic relations and investments,” the Presidential release reads.
President Iohannis is to underscore the importance attached to the bilateral relationship with the Croat minority in Romania, as well as with the Romanian minority in Croatia.
“With regard to the European agenda, particular attention will be paid, inter alia, to the future of the European project and to the prospects for the EU Council presidencies for the first time in the same Trio of Presidencies,” the source informs.
The two presidents will approach also the security issues, with stress laid on cooperation within NATO and the alliance’s part at European and world level, including in view of the 2018 summit.
