Romanian MEP, elected EP Vice-President

Romanian Social Democrat MEP Ioan Mircea Pascu was elected as one of the 14 Vice-Presidents of the European Parliament (EP), by 517 voted, the new EP President Antonio Tajani announced on Wednesday.

Pascu obtained the vice-president for another two years and a half in the runoffs.

According to the EP rules, candidates for this position must obtain absolute majority, meaning 310 votes in the case of Wednesday sitting.
