A Romanian woman from the United States wants to become mayor of Las Vegas. Irina Hansen, 45 years old, has just announced her candidacy for the 2024 elections, where she will have four opponents, the publication KTNV Las Vegas reports.
Irina Hansen announced her candidacy for mayor of the American metropolis on September 21, during a campaign event in Henderson. The current mayor of Las Vegas, Carol Goodman, has announced that she will not run for a new mandate. Thus, in next year’s election race, Irina Hansen will have councilor Victoria Seaman, former US congresswoman Shelley Berkley, entrepreneur and nurse Donna Miller and local businesswoman Tera Anderson as her opponents.
Irina Hansen declares herself conservative, and her electoral program promises sustainable economic growth, ensuring the safety of the city and finding a solution to the homeless crisis, according to the quoted source.
“Irina believes that under her leadership, she will be able to create sustainable economic growth in Las Vegas and restore the people’s trust in their elected officials. She is tired of people who make empty promises to get elected, which has turned into inactivity and complacency,” the press release announcing the Romanian candidate for mayor states.
Her campaign motto is “If they won’t do it, I will!”. Irina was born in Romania in 1978 and says she immigrated to America to “escape the oppressive rule of a communist dictator,” according to the press release.
She has been living in Las Vegas since 1998 and has been in business since 2005 The Romanian is a member of the Las Vegas Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the Residential Real Estate Council, and four years ago she founded Prestige Salon and Spa.
She’ll be back once America goes up in smoke…soon.
