Ruling party decides to stage rally against justice abuses on Saturday evening

PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea announced on Monday that the party will stage a rally against the abuse in the judiciary system in Victoriei Square on Saturday, June 9, at 8 p.m, arguing “there are an underground power that is infesting important decisions”.

It will be a meeting against the abuses happening in Romania for a long time, against the fact that democracy and the rule of law have been affected in Romania for several years. We are staging this meeting to show that we are decided to go all the way. We are expecting all those who want to live in a free country, where there are no more institutions under the reign of terror, and where, due to a huge toxic propaganda, there is an underground power that is infesting decisions and influencing major decision in an occult way, which is allowing unconstitutional intrusions (…),” Dragnea stated.

The decision has been taken within the party’s Executive Council meeting, which has focused exclusively on organizing the rally.

The ruling party has first mentioned the possibility of staging a protest one week ago, but back then the Social Democrats were talking about a street rally in support of Dancila Cabinet and of the party leadership. However, meanwhile they revised the topic, saying it is a protest meeting against the „justice abuses”.

The PSD’s protest meeting will be staged on the same day with the Bucharest Pride parade, also scheduled in Victoriei Square.
