Negotiations to form the new Dancila Cabinet are drawing to a close, as the Social Democrat Party’s National Executive Committee is expected on Friday to table the final list of the Cabinet members.
As PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea has given green light for the Social Democrats facing legal problems to be members in the future Government led by Viorica Dancila, former ministers who have such problems, like Sevil Shhaideh or Rovana Plumb (both investigated by DNA in the Belina file), might come back in the Cabinet.
Media reported on Thursday that Sevil Shhaideh might be appointed as the secretary general of the Government, and Rovana Plumb might come back as deputy PM, without portfolio.
Razvan Cuc is also said to return as Transport minister, as he is endorsed by Liviu Dragnea. However, Cuc has been recommended so far only by Niculae Badalau, the PSD leader from Giurgiu. As Badalau-Dragnea relations are tensed, it’s possible that the local leaders of the party should not support Cuc for the Transport portfolio. Sorin Bota is also favourite for this ministry.
The ministers who have high chances to stay in the Gov’t are Ionut Misa for the Finances, Tudorel Toader as Justice minister.
On the other hand, PSD is considering three new ministers: Ecaterina Andronescu to the Education ministry, Rodica Nassar for the Health ministry and George Ivascu-Culture.
