The son of social-democrat mayor of Rosiorii de Vede, Teleorman County, Iulian Circiumaru, has joined the party of former Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos and said he does not have the same political views as his father.
His father, Valerica Circiumaru, is mayor elected on the PSD lists, ziare.com reports.
For years there were rumours about tensions between the two, but no one wanted to comment on the issue.
“I do not have the same political views as my father. Political views are almost irreconcilable. The problem is that the party propaganda aims not only the electorate, but also the basis of the party pyramid. However, my family’s views are not just political, so we try not to mix the politics with family. We spend weekends and holiday together, we have sports activities together, since recently my parents are grandparents, we watch matches together, we discuss the plans I have and my sister has and so on. First of all, my father is parent, not politician,” Iulian Circiumaru said.
Asked why he has chosen the party led by Dacian Ciolos, Circiumaru said he feels connected to the values the people in this party share and sees it as openness towards Romanian entrepreneurship and business environment.
