The name of the first deputy Governor of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) Florin Georgescu is rumored as potential nomination for the PM seat. Political sources told Mediafax that PSD-ALDE coalition is considering this option.
Social Democrat chairman Liviu Dragnea has previously penciled the portrait of the premier that he is going to propose to President Klaus Iohannis, revealing that it’s going to be “a man” who is a member of the Social Democrat Party.
Yet, Florin Georgescu is not PSD member, but indeed he was a Social Democrat in the past.
Liviu Dragnea announced the name of their proposal for the PM position would be disclosed during the consultations with President Iohannis on Wednesday. He also added that none of the versions rumored so far in the mass media is standing.
Names such as Vasile Dancu (current minister of Regional Development), Mihai Fifor and Sorin Grindeanu have been rumored so far as potential candidates that PSD will take to Cotroceni Palace.
