The latest opinion poll before Sunday’s elections: Which party ranks first?

The Social Democrat Party (PSD) is favored to win parliamentary elections according to the latest opinion polls released before the Sunday’s ballot.

Therefore, the latest IRES poll conducted during December 6-7, PSD would gather 44% of the votes, with the National Liberal Party (PNL) being a great distance off with 23% and Save Romania Union (USR) with 7%. 6% of the respondents said they would vote for ALDE or PMP. UDMR would gather 5 percent and PRU 4 pc. 3 pc of the respondents will vote for an independent while 2 pc for other parties.

In terms of turnout, 42% of those questioned said they would definitely go to the polls, 22% say they will probably vote. 21% will not go to the polls for sure, while another 6 percent say they might not vote, Gandul daily reports.

The IRES poll was commissioned by Digi 24.

PSD also ranks first according to SOCIOPOL survey, being credited with 41%. The Social Democrats are followed by Liberals- 27 % and USR- 7%. ALDE would gather 6 pc of the votes and PRU-5%. UDMR and PMP were credited with 4% each, thus failing to enter the Parliament.

The SOCIOPOL survey was conducted by phone during December 3-7, commissioned by RTV.

According to a previous poll released last week, PSD topped Romanians’ preferences with 43% of votes. According to an Avangarde opinion poll, PNL and USR are on the next places. On the other hand, the opinion poll revealed three quarters of the respondents believe Romania is heading in a wrong direction.

The political parties, by intentions of vote: PSD – 43%, PNL – 27%, USR – 8%, ALDE – 6%, PMP – 5%, UDMR – 5%, PRU – 3%, ANR – 1%, PRM – 1%, others – 1%.

The opinion poll was conducted by Avangarde during November 20-27. One thousand people of 18 or more were interviewed by phone.
