Shortly before the MAE announcement, the Ministry of National Defense said that the fragments found on Wednesday between the towns of Nufăru and Victoria in Tulcea county are from a drone similar to those used by the Russian army.

Meanwhile, the Russian forces continued, during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the attacks on the Ukrainian port infrastructure from Reni and Izmail, in the proximity of the border between Ukraine and Romania.

The Romanian authorities sent an RO-Alert message to 8 localities in Tulcea county, located near the border with Ukraine.

The town of Nufăru is 14-15 km from the closest points to the border with Ukraine, and Victoria is 17-18 km from the border. Nufăru is 10 km from the center of Tulcea.

The first two cases of drone remains found on Romanian territory were near the town of Plauru, located practically on the border, but Nufăru and Victoria are much further from the border.

In none of the three cases so far, Romania’s radars have not detected anything.
