PMP President, presidential contender Elena Udrea made an expected move on Wednesday by announcing the incumbent President Traian Basescu would join Popular Movement Party the next day he ended his term. “President Traian Basescu will join PMP on December 22”, Udrea told a press conference, adding the head of state expressed wish to find a place for him to “hang up some pictures on the wall” at the party’s HQs. Asked if Basescu is to take a leadership office, Udrea answered: “Things in PMP are not going as they are in PSD. If a leadership changeover is needed, we shall hold internal elections. I don’t know what Mr. President is planning.”
