UNPR loses more MPs – four deputies and Senator Florina Jipa join PSD

Four UNPR deputies have announced on Tuesday they are leaving the party and join PSD, following the move on Monday, when seven senators left the UNPR, which led to the dissolution of their parliamentary group in the Senate.

The deputies are Laurentiu Chirvasuta, Viorel Blajut, Titi Holban and Valentin Blanariu, according to the announcement made by the Secretary of the Chamber of Deputies after the meeting of the Standing Bureau, hotnews.ro reports.

Also on Tuesday, Senator Florina Jipa (photo), famous after she anointed with myrrh senator Dan Sova in the plenum, has announced she would join PSD.

“Starting today I will be in the PSD group. I was accidentally in the group where I was and I was treated the way I was. Eight years ago I voted together with PSD,” Jipa said.

Jipa ran for the post of judge with the Constitutional Court but was not supported by UNPR. After joining PSD, Jipa will be part of the Law Committee.

The party founded by Gabriel Oprea thus has lost another 12 MPs and has 31 MPs at the moment.

UNPR has had a maximum of 55 MPs.
