Chamber of Deputies notifies CCR on the conflict between Parliament and Public Ministry

The Chamber of Deputies has notified on Monday the Constitutional Court on a conflict between the Public Ministry and Parliament, connected to the SRI-Prosecutor General’s Office in 2016, sources said.

The referral to CCR was signed by the Chamber of Deputies deputy Speaker, Florin Iordache.

The Chamber of Deputies Speaker was due to refer the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) on a conflict between the Parliament and the Prosecutor General’s Office on the protocol signed by the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) and the Prosecutor’s Office in 2016, as said last week.

Political sources said last week that the Chamber of Deputies Speaker will refer this week the CCR.

The information regarding the filing of the complaint to the Court was officially confirmed Monday morning by Florin Iordache, who said that the referral will reach the CCR when the text is completed.

PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea said last Wednesday in Parliament that he is in favour of a possible referral to the CCR regarding the signing of the Protocols between the Prosecutor General’s Office and the SRI, an idea announced two weeks ago by Florin Iordache.
