Prime Minister Viorica Dancila has denied on Monday, before the PSD Executive Committee, the rumours regarding an alleged intention to resign. In turn, social-democrat chairman Liviu Dragnea said she will stay in office as Premier at least until 2020.
“No way. I would be curious to find out where this rumour started, not from me anyway,” Prime Minister Dancila said on Monday.
In turn, PSD Chairman, Liviu Dragnea, asked if she will remain in office until 2020, replied: “Yes, At least.”
PM Viorica Dancila has had a discussion with the PSD leader before the start of the party’s Executive Committee sitting, focusing on the possibilities to organise a meeting to support the Government and the governing programme, sometime in May.
PM Dancila submitted, on Monday, a first balance sheet of governance for the two months, to the PSD Executive Committee.
The conclusion of the social-democratic leadership after the meeting is to appreciate the way PM Viorica Dăncilă manages the fulfilment of the government programme but also how the ministers act, PSD Chairman Liviu Dragnea said after the sitting.
“The conclusion, not only mine, but also of our colleagues is the appreciation of how she manages and how the ministers act,” Dragnea said.
He said there is a problem of communicating the measures, but also cases where changing the ‘old things’ could also generate negative reactions.
Huge rally announced to support traditional family. The ‘AKM Deputy’ loses party support. PSD spokesman resigns
Liviu Dragnea announced that PSD has decided to hold a large-scale rally “to support the traditional family”.
“The most important decision is related to the proposal I made to my colleagues to organize a large PSD rally for the support of the traditional family. We want to organize this rally and we have taken this decision today, so that there is no doubt about the PSD approach on this subject,” Dragn
The PSD leader said the rally would be in Bucharest.
Also on Monday, the Executive Committee has decided to withdraw the political support to Deputy Catalin Radulescu, known as ‘the AKM Deputy’.
“The president of the PSD Arges organization presented us the decision made by the Arges organization to withdraw the political support for deputy Catalin Radulescu and the National Permanent Bureau and the Executive Committee took note and have validated this decision,” Dragnea added.
The decision reportedly came from the controversial legislative projects initiated by Radulescu. Others say his critical position against the PSD leadership during the Extraordinary Congress in March.
Last but not least, PSD spokesman and State Secretary, Adrian Dobre, has resigned. Dobre was appointed as spokesman on February 2017. He was also State Secretary with the Ministry for Business, Trade and Entrepreneurship.
