US President Donald Trump has sent to the Senate Adrian Zuckerman’s nomination for US Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Romania, a statement posted on the White House website on Tuesday, July 31, informs.
According to the quoted source, along with Adrian Zuckerman’s nomination, the White House also sent to the Senate nominations for several ministerial offices as well as those of the future ambassadors to Montenegro and the Central African Republic, Judy Rising Reinke and Lucy Tamlyn, ziare.com reports.
President Trump announced on July 24 the intention to nominate Adrian Zuckerman for the position of US Ambassador to Romania.
“Adrian Zuckerman, a New York attorney, was admitted to the New York bar in 1984, and is a partner in the international law firm Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Previously, Mr. Zuckerman was co-head of national real estate and corporate services at Epstein Becker & Green, PC, New York, New York and prior to that the head of real estate, Lowenstein Sandler, LLP, New York, New York. He has also acted as the chair of a civil court judicial screening panel and as an arbitrator for the Real Estate Board of New York. Active in philanthropic and educational initiatives, Mr. Zuckerman is a member of the board of Kids Corp. and serves on the alumni board of New York Law School. Mr. Zuckerman immigrated to the United States from Romania at the age of 10 and is fluent in Romanian. He received his undergraduate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his law degree from New York Law School,” the White House informed at the time.
In a statement for Realitatea TV private broadcaster, Adrian Zuckerman said in late July he is flattered and deeply honoured to be nominated by President Trump as the future US Ambassador to Romania, and that he is also grateful for Trump’s confidence. Zuckerman added that until the Senate analyzes the nomination and decides on it, he is not in a position to discuss publicly about any issues regarding the nomination, the United States or Romania.
