The USR Vice Mayor of Braşov, Flavia Boghiu, and the head of the Heritage Administration Service within the City Hall are being prosecuted by the DNA for abuse of office, after allegedly allowing an association to use the “Catacombe Braşov” building, without the approval of the City Council, according to a press release from the institution.
The prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate – Brasov Territorial Service have ordered the prosecution of the suspects Flavia-Romona Bighiu, deputy mayor of Brasov, and Cristine Manolache, head of the Heritage Administration and Commercial Urbanism Service (SAPUC) within the Brasov City Hall, for committing for each offense of abuse of office, if the civil servant obtained an undue benefit for himself or for another.
DNA claims in a press release sent on Tuesday, that between April 1 and August 10, 2021, “the two suspects, in violation of the duties provided by the primary legislation and without the approval of the deliberative public authority (Local Council), would be allowed , illegally and free of charge, to an association, to use the building called “Catacomb Brasov”, owned by the Brasov City Hall, for the organization of events”.
“Through the measures mentioned above, a total damage of 304,010 lei would have been caused to the City Hall of Braşov, at the same time as obtaining an undue benefit, in the same amount, for the respective association”, adds DNA.
