The assistant of the US Secretary of State, Victoria Nuland will come to Romania next week. The US official will meet President Klaus Iohannis and foreign minister Bogdan Aurescu, official sources told Mediafax on Wednesday evening. Nuland’s visit in Bucharest is part of her European tour.
President Iohannis stated he would talk to Nuland when she came to Romania. “It will be a good thing as we would already enter into certain details,” Iohannis said on Wednesday. After the journalist’ s remark that Nuland has constantly slammed corruption in Romania, warning it could jeopardize national security, the Romanian president replied: “This is precisely the thing I have already spoken about twice today, I perfectly agree to this evaluation.”
Victoria Nuland’s previous visit in Romania took place on January 10-11 last year, also part of a European tour.
