Volodymyr Zelensky is reportedly visiting Romania next week, sources say

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, could visit Romania on October 10, according to official sources cited by Digi 24. It would be the first visit to Bucharest by the Ukrainian leader, since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, in 24 February 2022.

An official confirmation will most likely come on the day of the visit for security reasons.

On August 23, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denîs Şmîhal, visited Bucharest, who announced that President Volodymyr Zelenski would come to Romania, but without providing more details. “I think that President Zelenski will come to Romania. I can’t say the date, but I know he will do it,” Denîs Şmîhal told Digi24.

The visit would also take place in the context of the constant support given by Romania to Ukraine, including in the grain crisis. On September 26, in the speech addressed to the nation, the president of Ukraine said that he expects “constructive cooperation” from other neighboring countries, in the issue of grains, as is happening with Romania and Bulgaria.
