Weird things about domestic politics amplified by PMP-UNPR merger

Traian Basescu will have on Kiseleff Street an office in the PSD headquarters (photo) courtyard, after the PMP-UNPR merger, said on Wednesday the former PSD president Victor Ponta.

“After the latest moves on the political scene, some extremely funny situations surface: 1. The PMP-UNPR merger will offer Basescu an office in the PSD headquarters courtyard. 2. PNL co-chair Alina Gorghiu works in the headquarters of the former Democratic Party in Modrogan Street – Basescu’s former office; 3. ALDE (USL former headquarters) in the former office of Crin Antonescu now works Calin Popescu Tariceanu. 4. At PSD, leader Liviu Dragnea works in the former office of Mircea Geoana (the former office of Adrian Nastase and mine is now the reception hall).  5. PM Ciolos works in the former office of PM Emil Boc. 6. Agriculture Minister Achim Irimescu is in former office of Dacian Ciolos. 7. Interior Minister Petre Toba works in the former office of Gabriel Oprea (formerly the office of Elena Ceausescu). 8. Klaus Iohannis works in the former office of Ion Iliescu at Cotroceni Palace (not in the one of Traian Basescu’s). 9. At the Senate, the office formerly taken by Mircea Geoana, Vasile Blaga and Crin Antonescu is now Tariceanu’s. 10. At the Chamber of Deputies, the former office of speaker Valeriu Zgonea, vacated, will be turned by PSD into a monument for the twisted turns of politics,” the former PM wrote on his Facebook page.

Referring to the PMP-UNPR merger, the former UNPR leader Gabriel Oprea claims, also on Facebook, he had no contribution to the latest decision and that he would have preferred UNPR to run on his own. “I had no contribution to the UNPR latest decision. On the other hand, the decision does not reflect my opinions,” Oprea said.
