Zelensky talked in Bucharest about the military aid provided by Romania to Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed, after his visit to Romania, what the military aid offered by the Bucharest government to Ukraine consists of: artillery ammunition and anti-aircraft systems.

“What did we obtain? First, good weapons deals. I can’t tell you everything now, the artillery ammunition is ticked, and so is the reinforcement of anti-aircraft systems – ticked. We are still preparing certain things that will have a strong impact. A training center for F-16 pilots is now being organized in Romania, and Ukrainian pilots will be among the first to train here,” Zelensky said in a message filmed from the presidential plane and posted on social media.

The Ukrainian president also mentioned the creation of a grain corridor through the Republic of Moldova, the development of the port infrastructure and the opening of new crossing points at the common border, topics that were also communicated during the official meeting held on Tuesday with Klaus Iohannis.

“Thank you to everyone who helps us. It is good that today we managed to strengthen our defense“, Zelensky also said in the statement made after the visit to Romania.

Zelensky also thanked Romania during the special press conference at Cotroceni Palace for the help given to Ukraine since the first days of the war with Russia. “Part of the support was that you hosted our citizens. When you have such a problem you have to look at the battlefield, realize what you need. You see there are shortages everywhere. We had to defend ourselves. Motivation is great, but it’s not enough. Thanks for all the packages. It’s about the signal sent at the beginning, very important. The fact that Romania supported us is very important. You know what we need. We received artillery ammunition, we were in short supply with that, not being a NATO country, we did not have weapons from the West, at first, then we switched to such weapons and ammunition, the people of the world, from the West helped us, sent weapons, you helped us with artillery,” Zelenskiy said.
