12 US soldiers hospitalised, injured after parachute jumps in Swift Response 17-1 military drill

12 US soldiers who participated in a night parachute jump in the Swift Response 17-1 exercise at 71 Campia Turzii Air Base were injured and hospitalized at the Military Hospital in Cluj-Napoca.

Atlantic Resolve Officer Brent M. Williams said Saturday evening that the health status of the US military is stable, ziare.com reports.

Williams said that 12 US soldiers suffered injuries during the night parachute jump on Friday during the Campia Turzii exercise. They received emergency medical treatment for injuries and were transported to the Cluj-Napoca Military Hospital for further investigations. The military will return to the unit in the next 24 to 48 hours, and the other two will be hospitalized for treatment and observations. The medical condition of the 12 soldiers is stable.

Most of the injuries suffered were caused when landing.
