-21C in Bucharest Thursday morning, temperatures drop to -24C in several regions of the country

The temperatures have dropped sharply last night, down to -24 degrees Celsius in Targu Logresti, Gorj County, while in Bucharest Baneasa area the lows reached -21C.

At 9.00h Thursday morning, there was no place in Romania with temperatures higher than -9C, hotnews.ro reports.

Other localities with low records: -23C in Obarsia Lotrului, Stolnici -22C, Slatina, Oltenita, Miercurea Ciuc, Rosiorii de Vede, Curtea de Arges -21C.

The highest temperature was in Calafat: -9C.

The all time record low temperature was registered on March 9, 1952, in Intorsura Buzaului: -31.4 degrees Celsius.

The snow layer was Thursday morning of 44 cm in Craiova, 41 cm in Turnu Magurele and 40 cm in Slatina.
