230 searches conducted by DIICOT in Bucharest and 28 counties

The Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) policemen have conducted, Wednesday morning, 238 searches in Bucharest and 28 counties, part of the criminal files on organised crime. Incumbent DIICOT chief, Daniel Horodniceanu, who concludes his mandate these days, said it is a huge action prepared for more than a year and that DIICOT want to have a blow to the organised crime, hotnews.ro informs.

Horodniceanu said 600 policemen are involved, including the DIICOT territorial services, digi24.ro reports.

Sources say 47 searches were conducted in Timisoara, mainly in the student camp, aiming at several students with the faculties of medicine and law, two networks of drug trafficking – marijuana and Ecstasy. No less than 50 people are expected to be heard in regard to drug trafficking and international drug trafficking.

Searches were conducted also at Targoviste, aiming Florin Parjol aka. Ghenosu, local interloper. He had been previously arrested in France for pimping, blackmail and computer fraud, his group being involved in violent crimes.

Romanian Police informs that 238 search warrants were conducted in Bucharest and 28 counties Botoşani, Suceava, Iaşi, Neamţ, Vaslui, Galaţi, Brăila, Vrancea, Covasna, Braşov, Buzău, Prahova, Dâmboviţa, Constanţa, Ialomiţa, Călăraşi, Ilfov, Teleorman, Dolj, Gorj, Caraş, Hunedoara, Timiş, Bihor, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Cluj and Bistriţa-Năsăud, with 290 individuals to be heard.
