Police has fined a 81-year-old woman for not rushing on the pedestrian crossing on a street in Bucharest. The woman, who was moving slowly due to her age, has been caught halfway on the crosswalk when the traffic light turned red.
The images and video featuring the old woman being fined by the Bucharest traffic policemen have gone viral on social media.
“When I moved in the crosswalk the traffic lights were green , but they turned to red when I was halfway,” the woman explained.
Police has not provided a stance so far.
The law says that the pedestrian caught halfway on the crosswalk and the traffic lights turn red he/she must hurry up and if the road has a refuge where cars are forbidden the pedestrian must wait there until the lights go green.
