84 pc of Romanians don’t want refugees/immigrants to settle in Romania

More than 80% of Romanians oppose refugees/immigrants to settle in Romania, a survey conducted by Inscop Research reveals.

According to the survey, 84.6% of Romanians say they don’t agree refugees/immigrants to settle in Romania (as compared to 80.2% in November 2015 and 65.3% in September 2015), while 11% agree with such a perspective (against 16.1% in November 2015 and 26.5% in September 2015). The percentage of those who do not know or do not respond is 4.3% in March (as compared to 3.7% in November 2015 and to 8.2% in September 2015).

The Inscop survey shows that 88.3% of respondents say they do not agree refugees/immigrants to settle or to be hosted in their locality (against 81.9% in November 2015 and 67.1% in September 2015) while 7.7% agree (as compared to 14.2% in November 2015 and to 24.4% in September 2015). The percentage of those who do not know or do not respond is 3.9% of respondents (as compared to 3.9% in November 2015 and to 8.5% in September 2015).

The survey was commissioned by Adevarul media group and conducted by INSCOP Research, during March 21-28, 2016, on a representative sample of 1,063 Romanians aged 18 years and over. MPE is plus/minus 3%, for an accuracy rate of 95 percent. The polling method was questionnaires filled in at the respondents’ domicile.
