Six persons have been seriously injured on Wednesday as a coach transporting Romanian seasonal women workers has overturned in the German Land of Lower Saxony in the northwest of the country, the DPA agency and the local daily Neue Osnabruecker Zeitung inform in the online edition, quoted by antena3.ro.
According to the German police, the passengers in the coach were almost exclusively Romanian, seasonal workers in agriculture.
First information reveals that six people suffered serious injuries and 38 were slightly injured.
The accident took place at about 10.30h local time, when a coach with about 50 people skidded and overturned on the road connecting Bad Essen to Schwagstorf, near Bohmte-Leckermühle.
Several police crews, fire engines, 17 ambulances and two helicopters arrived at the site. One of the passengers remained under the coach, the fire brigade intervention was needed to take her out.
The police completely closed the traffic on B 51 road and was expected to be reopened at 16.00h local time.
