About 70,000 tourists at the seaside on May 1st this year

Almost 70,000 tourists have spent the May 1st mini-vacation on the seaside this year, exceeding the tourism authorities’ previous forecast of 40,000 tourists. Tourist have spent on the average EUR 300 during the long weekend, said Corina Martin, president of the Federation of the Associations for Tourist Promotion in Romania and vice-president of the Seaside-Danube Delta Association.

The seaside resorts that lured most of the tourists were Mamaia and Vama Veche, mostly preferred by youngsters.

The two resorts were also hosting some events the past weekend, such as the 21st edition of the Sunwaves electronic music festival, Festival du Bonheur (for the food-minded), the Grand Opening Show of the Season in Mamaia, Mamaia — Constanța Drift Games by the Sea, but also various club parties.

The first ratings for the 2017 summer season on the Black Sea shore shows an increase by 15-20 per cent of the tourists against last year, considering that 2016 has been considered the best in the last ten years.
