The Romanian Meteorology Administration (ANM) on Friday extended the weather alert for rains, snowfalls and storms in the entire country until Saturday afternoon.
Weather forecasters say that during October 7, 6 p.m. to October 8, 3 p.m. rains will gradually extend and seize Oltenia, Muntenia, Dobruja, southern and central Moldavia, with water quantities locally exceeding 20 liters per square meter.
Consistent rains will prevail in Braila, Tulcea, Galati and Vaslui counties, where there will be over 40 liters/sqm in the second part of the Friday night to Saturday.
At the same time, snowfalls will prevail in the Eastern and Southern Carpathians areas, with a new snowpack laying down. Wind will grow stronger in southeastern regions and in the mountains, where blows will locally exceed 55 to 60 km per hour.
ANM added that the weather would be chill in most regions of the country, particularly in the morning when there will locally be hoarfrost especially in northern and central Romania and in the hilly regions.
