The Romanian Auto Registry (RAR) inspectors have checked, technically, some 33,726 vehicles countrywide in the first half of the year, and almost 1,700 cars were found in imminent risk of accidents, with multiple issues related to lighting, signal, pollution, tyres, suspension, visibility, steering and braking.
Nationwide, about one in ten cars stopped by Police and checked by RAR had pollution levels above the legal limit, realitatea.net reports.
RAR also informs that almost half of the several tens of thousands car checked, about half did not meet the technical requirements.
Following the controls carried out by RAR together with Romanian Police, some 11,000 fines have been issued, 8,480 registration licenses and 258 driving licenses have been suspended.
