The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) initiated checks-up at several hypermarkets and malls in the country, Digi24 reports. The ANAF inspectors are checking if they have up to date balance sheets, if their financial data are real and if they paid all taxes to the state.
High sounding brands are topping the list: Unirea Shopping Center, AFI Cotroceni, Plaza and Vitan malls in Bucharest, Iulius Mall Timi?oara, Iulius Mall Cluj. The national revenue authority is also eyeing two of the most famous retailers in Romania, Cora hypermarkets and Billa supermarkets. Bricostore Romania, P.P. Distributors Romania and Peek&Cloppenburg are also targeted.
The commercial centers have been informed that their financial papers of the last past five years would be examined.
