Bulgarian PM Borisov sends plane to Timisoara to take over blocked compatriots due to redirected flight

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has decided on Tuesday to send a governmental aircraft to take over more than 90 Bulgarian citizens blocked on Timisoara airport (western Romania) due to a redirected flight of the Ryanair company, Focus agency reports.

Earlier, novinite.com reported that a group of Bulgarians were in trouble at the airport in the Romanian city of Timisoara. They boarded a flight with the low-cost company Ryanair from London, which was supposed to land last night at 20:15 in Plovdiv. Because of the bad weather conditions, the flight was redirected first to Sofia Airport, then to Romania.

The source informed that the passengers lacked information when they could leave. The initial number was 120, however about 40 people have left by buses provided by the Bulgarian embassy, the rest remained in Timisoara.

Other sources say 113 Bulgarians are still on Timisoara airport.
