Cabana Caraiman has reopened, after a long period when it was closed to tourists. Romanian violinist Alexandru Tomescu, the owner of the Caraiman cabin, has rehabilitated the chalet and held violin and guitar classes at the end of July, as well as an outdoor concert, one week ago, Brașov.net reported.
Built in 1937 at an altitude of 2025 meters, on the eastern side of the Bucegi plateau, at the entrance to the Jepilor Valley, Caraiman Chalet will be open permanently until at least October 1st, possibly even November 1st if there are visitors.
The cottage was for several years owned by a British citizen, who used it several times a year, as a holiday home, and recently it was bought by the violinist Alexandru Tomescu, who, together with his family, renovated and restored it at the disposal of tourists.
The full-time lodger is Florin Codleanu, characterized by those who know him as an exceptional chef, a lover and connoisseur of the mountain, poet, prose writer.
Tourists who want to stay overnight at the cabin must directly contact the cabin owner.
