Coach with 60 people aboard has overturned in Constanta County. 3 children injured, Red Plan activated

A bus with 60 people aboard, all citizens of Ukraine, has overturned on the night of Thursday to Friday in Constanta County, with more than 15 ambulances, SMURD crews and special equipped vans.

After the accident, three injured children were transported to the hospital, and the passengers were taken to the cultural facility in Mihail Kogalniceanu locality. The coach was coming from Bulgaria and was heading for Ukraine, digi24.ro reports.

According to the representatives of the Dobrogea Emergency Situations Inspectorate, the fire-fighters were announced on Thursday night about the road accident on DN2A, near the junction with DJ228, between Ovidiu and Mihail Kogalniceanu localities.

The authorities have activated the Red Plan for Intervention. 60 people were found on site, 49 children and 11 adults.

Following the accident, a 10-year old girl with head trauma, a 14-year-old girl with lumbar trauma, and another 13-year old girl with a lumbar and thoracic trauma were transported to Constanta County Emergency Clinical Hospital. The children were accompanied to the medical unit by a woman, the mother of two of the girls.

According to representatives of the Constanta Police Inspectorate, the coach was driven by a 52-year-old man from Ukraine, and the accident occurred due to lack of attention in driving, the means of transport leaving the road and turning to the right. Police have opened a criminal file for injury.
