Meteorologists have issued a code yellow warning of torrential rains for the region of Moldova and northern Dobrogea, valid on Thursday, September 19. Rainfall of up to 30 liters per square meter will also affect areas hit by flooding last weekend.
The new alerts come amid the already devastating effects of cyclone Boris made last week in Romania, and in all Central and Eastern Europe.
According to the weather warning issued by the National Meteorological Administration, on Thursday, September 19, in the time interval 03.00 – 18.00, quantitatively significant showers will be reported in the counties of Suceava, Botoșani, Neamț, Iași, Bacău, Vaslui, Vrancea, Galați and Tulcea. The yellow rain code is valid on Thursday, between 03.00 and 18.00.
In the mentioned interval, there will be periods of rain in Moldova and in the north of Dobrogea. In short periods of time or through accumulation, the water quantities will be 15…25 l/m2 and isolated more than 30 l/m2.
In the Capital, on Thursday, the sky will be temporarily cloudy. After noon and into the evening the probability of light rain will increase. The wind will generally blow moderately. The maximum temperature will be 21…23 degrees.
