Code Yellow of heavy snow in most parts of the country

As snow and rain are spreading across the country, meteorologists have issued weather warnings and a yellow code for much of the country on Monday.

The meteorological information enters into force on Monday evening, at 22.00, and will be in force until Wednesday, at 18.00.

During this period, precipitation will extend from the southwest and will cover all regions and will accumulate quantities that will exceed 15… 20 l / sqm and in small areas, especially in the southeast half, 30… 40 l / mp.

In the hilly and mountainous areas and locally in the center, north and northeast of the country there will be precipitation mainly in the form of snow and sleet, and in the southern and south-eastern regions rains will predominate.

There will be black ice in Transylvania and Moldavia.

Starting with the second part of Tuesday (December 7), the wind will intensify in the east, southeast, in the extreme southwest and temporarily in the high mountain area, generally with speeds of 45… 55 km / h.

From Wednesday morning (December 8) the precipitation area will be restrain to the eastern and south-eastern regions.

From Tuesday morning, at 6.00, a yellow code of wind and heavy snow will come into force. It will be in force until Wednesday evening, at 18.00. During this period, in the south and east of Transylvania, the north and center of Moldova as well as in the mountain areas will be precipitation mainly in the form of snow. A consistent layer of snow will be deposited in some places, especially in the mountainous and sub-mountainous areas. In the high mountain area, and in small areas and in Moldova, there will be strong wind gusts, with speeds of 45 … 55 km / h, blowing snow.

The targeted counties are: Suceava, Botoşani, Iaşi, Neamţ, Bacău, Vaslui, Covasna, Harghita, Braşov şi Sibiu, iar parţial: Alba, Argeş, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Buzău, Cluj, Caraş-Severin, Dâmboviţa, Gorj, Hunedoara, Mehedinţi, Mureş, Prahova, Vâlcea and Vrancea.
