The Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) has postponed to November 28 the debates on the referral coming from the Chamber of Deputies regarding a conflict between the Parliament and the Public Ministry, saying that the secret protocols continue to have effects after their denouncement.
The sitting has been postponed because Florin Iordache, the head of Parliamentary committee for the laws of justice, the one who has notified the CCR, could not attend the sitting on Wednesday to support the Parliament’s viewpoint. The referral was signed by the Chamber of Deputies’ deputy speaker, because on that day the Chamber’s Speaker, Liviu Dragnea, had delegated to Iordache the office’s attributions.
The Chamber of Deputies notified the Constitutional Court on October 8, regarding a possible conflict between the Parliament and the Public Ministry related to the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) – Prosecutor General’s Office protocols.
The parties have sent their viewpoints until October 22.
