CSM rejects Judicial Inspectorate’s disciplinary action against Kovesi

The prosecutors’ section of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) has rejected, on Wednesday, by majority of votes, the disciplinary action filed by the Judicial Inspectorate on former DNA chief prosecutor, Laura Codruta Kovesi, investigated for the refusal to attend a parliamentary committee for investigating the presidential elections in 2009. There was one separate opinion, in favour of admitting the action.

The Judicial Inspectorate’s report was previously sent to the CSM prosecutors’ section.

On April 18, the Judicial Inspectorate announced that it started a disciplinary action against Laura Codruta Kovesi for violating the provisions of the Constitutional Court decision, by refusing to turn out to the parliamentary committee.
