A 30-year-old Czech tourist has fallen down on the snow in Făgăraş Mountains, Romania, suffering serious injuries. Mountain rescuers have asked for a medevac helicopter to take him to hospital.
The head of the Sibiu Mountain Rescuer Service, Adrian David, has said that the Czech tourist had suffered a serious accident on Monday after falling down a snow stretch in Făgăraş Mountains, near Avrig Lake.
A medevac SMURD helicopter was called from Mures to take the injured to hospital.
“He has injuries at his head, arms and legs, and his condition is extremely serious,” said Adrian David.
Many other foreign tourists were previously injured or even died in Fagaras Mountains.
A woman tourist from Germany suffered a fracture while in Ceahlau Massif on Sunday and was rescued after a difficult intervention that lasted 5 hours.
