The Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament has voted today the draft law by which the people who are vaccinated against Covid-19 benefit, upon request, of a paid day off, for each dose of vaccine carried out. The bill passed by 263 votes in favor, 30 against and 4 abstentions.
In the case of pupils and students, it is a day when they are exempted from attending school.
The draft states that people who are vaccinated against COVID-19 will benefit, on request, from a paid day off, which is not included during the annual leave, in the case of public and private employees, respectively from a day on which they are exempt from attending school, in the case of pupils and students.
“People who are vaccinated against COVID-19 shall enjoy, upon request, the following rights: one paid day off, which is not included during the rest leave, for each dose of vaccine given, in the case of public and private employees, one day of exemption for attending courses, for each dose of vaccine performed, in the case of pupils and students, one day of leave, for each dose of vaccine performed, in the case of active military personnel and soldiers and professional ranks “, the bill reads.
According to the text, the rights of the persons provided in the above article are granted on the basis of the vaccination certificate issued according to the law.”One of the parents or the legal representative of the child up to 18 years of age, as well as of the person with disabilities up to 26 years of age, on the day of vaccination of the child, respectively of the person with disabilities, also benefit from these rights”.
These legal provisions do not apply if people are vaccinated at work by the employer.
The bill was rejected by the Senate, and the Chamber of Deputies is the decision-making body.
