At the moment, off the record, there would be ten Romanians confirmed as dead in Rieti, northern Lazio region. As to the missing people, the problem is that many Romanians are on holiday during this period. Moreover, quite many Romanians are working under counter in Italy, so one cannot know their real number,” Radu Nicolae, the secretary of the Unioni Italiana del Lavoro  trade union told Mediafax.
On the other hand, the local councilor in Verbania, Italy, Adrian Chifu stated that 100 Romanians are living in Amatrice, the locality that has been the nearest to the quake’s epicentre.
