An earthquake with the magnitude of 3.8 degrees on Richter scale occurred Friday morning, at 7.57h, in Vrancea region, Buzau County, the National Institute for Research-Development on Earth Physics (INCDFP) informs.
The quake took place at a depth of 145 km and had intensity in the epicentral area of 2 degrees on Mercalli scale.
The closest towns to the epicentral region are Nehoiu (25 km), Covasna (39 km), Întorsura Buzăului (46 km), Târgu Secuiesc (52 km) and Mizil (60 km).
The strongest earthquake this year in Romania took place on January 9, in Buzau County, and had a magnitude of 4.4 on Richter scale. On October 28, 2018, also in Buzau County, a 5.8 quake occurred, felt in Bucharest as well.
