Exceptions from wearing face masks adopted in Romania

The Committee for Emergency Situations has approved on Monday several exceptions from the decisions previously taken by the Government to contain the spread of the coronavirus infections. There some exceptions enforced in those localities where the face mask is mandatory.

Therefore, people who are going out for a drink or to eat on the terraces, as well as those smoking, are allowed to take off their face mask.

At the same time, those who are doing individual sports activities  (jogging including) are not compelled to wear the mask under several circumstances.

All exceptions are valid for open spaces, for short periods of time and only if the people are outside the pedestrian traffic areas and if they can observe the distance of at least 2 metres from other people.

Face masks in open spaces are mandatory in Bucharest, but also in several other cities where the incident rate of COVID-19 cases has exceeded 3 per 1,000 inhabitants.

List of countries of high epidemiological list updated

The Government has updated the list of countries with a high epidemiological risk. today, October 26. People coming from 30 countries to Romania must stay under 14-day quarantine. On the list there are Andorra, Vatican, Czechia, Belgium, French Polynesia, Guam, the Netherlands, Armenia, Luxembourg, Slovenia, France, Gibraltar, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, Argentina, Spain, Slovakia, UK, Georgia, Malta, Bahamas, Costa Rica, Croatia, Ireland, Poland, Bahrain, North Macedonia, Portugal, Puerto Rico
