Five Romanians evacuated from Yemen in weekend

Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed on Sunday that a Romanian citizen and one of his relatives have been evacuated from Yemen on Sunday, while other four Romanian had been taken out of this country on Saturday. Romanian ministry also said that a total of 17 Romanians have been evacuated in the context of the violent conflict in this country which doesn’t allow safe evacuations.

At the same time, The New Indian Express informed on its website that Indian ship INS Mumbai evacuated about 440 persons from Yemen, two Romanians included, and they were safely transported to Djibouti.

Three Romanians, employee of a local company in Yemen have been evacuated to Djibouti by a Chinese frigate on March 30 and soon they were repatriated. Other 14 Romanians, experts of a Romanian company activating in Yemen had also been repatriated on March 25.

519 persons, mostly civilians and 90 children have been killed in the last two weeks in Yemen, UN coordinator Valerie Amos informed on Thursday.
