The money raised from selling tickets for soprano Angela Gheorghiu’s concert for Colectiv nightclub victims have not been transferred yet by biletoo.ro, whose representatives say it would be paid on January 18.
Soprano Angela Gheorghiu performed a humanitarian concert on November 29, at the Romanian Athenaeum for the victims of Colectiv tragedy.
The money collected by direct donations through the partner foundation ‘Pretuieste Viata’ has already been transferred. The rest of the money, raised by selling the tickets to the concert, are still to come from the ticket operator biletoo.ro, Gheorghiu’s representatives inform in a release.
The balance sheet of funds amounts to RON 430,000, raised by the tickets sold, by individual domestic and international donations.
“Out of the total amount, RON 231,525 from the tickets sold has not reached the Pretuieste Viata accounts,” Gheorghiu’s representatives say.
Angela Gheorghiu said regarding this delay: “I wish that as of 2016 in Romania responsibility and professionalism are evaluated by any citizen before getting a position or a property, whatever that may be, but by those who have already proved they have the capabilities; we need to respect our values, to be more human, more united, more educated, more patriotic, more diligent with our own person, with our own country. Let’s never forget the love for fellow citizens and the voluntary work of any kind: social, medical, cultural, these are manifestations of civilization and human development.”
“I thank all of those who have donated amounts of money in the country and from abroad during this campaign, very important and very emotional for me, I thank the hundreds of people who attended the humanitarian concert at the Athenaeum, all the partners and friends who have got involved without hesitation, with high professionalism, with dedication, doubled by discretion and modesty in the organization of the concert and of the campaign,” Angela Gheorghiu said.
On the other hand, biletoo.ro representatives have posted on their Facebook page a message saying that the money collected from the humanitarian concert performed by soprano Angela Gheorghiu will be paid on January 18. They say the delay is a consequence of the fact that financial settlements at year end were made late by partner stores, leading to delays in payments to the event organizers, while the company’s accounts have been blocked by third parties. All due payments are to be solved next week, with priority the one to Pretuieste Viata. “We express our apologies to the organizers, partners and our friends, but also to the Colectiv victims for having to wait during this period of time,” the biletoo.ro message reads.
