Government decision: ISU will close clubs that endanger people’s lives. One of ‘Colectiv’ Club owners – ‘I have huge regrets’

The Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) will have the legal right to close all clubs and premises that do not comply with safety standards, under an emergency ordinance to be be approved by the Government sitting on Tuesday, PM Victor Ponta announced.
“We adopt the emergency ordinance that empowers the ISU, not the local authorities, not someone else, to check these places where a lot of people gather to check them from the point of view of fire protection and against disasters and can decide to close them down, to seal them, until they meet the standards,” the Premier said.
Ponta said that the emergency ordinance will have a single article that gives ISU the legal right to close down and to seal those pubs and clubs that put in danger people’s lives, so that they are reopened only if the necessary measures for the safety public are taken.
On the other hand, one of the club’s owners, Costin Mincu, was the first of the three who sent a message on Tuesday, referring to the fire following which 32 people died and some 180 were injured.
Mincu conveyed the message on his Facebook account through his lawyer Vlad Hosu.
“I am petrified by the pain in me and around me. I lost colleagues and dear friends during the night that left us all in mourning. Others are struggling at the edge of life on the hospital beds. I stand by them in thought, every moment between now and when I close my eyes. I wanted to make a nice story out of ‘Colectiv’ Club, because I always believed in my biggest passion: music. The story ended in a nightmare. A part of me died on October 30 at the ‘Colectiv’. I can only stand with my head bowed in front of judgment. I regret enormously what happened. Costin Mincu,” his Facebook account reads.
The ‘Colectiv’ Club owners were arrested Monday evening. The first was Alin Anastasescu, around 18:30h, followed by Paul Gancea at 20:30h and Costin Mincu, at around 22:30h.
